Production Process
Five metres is the size where a Tyrannosaurus stops being a monument and starts being an animal you can walk up to. That is a different product from the twelve-metre landmark at the gate, and it sells to different buyers: courtyards, indoor halls, small parks and displays where the viewing distance is never more than six metres.

The head carries it
At five metres the skull is necessarily smaller than the fossil animal's, and that is the proportion to protect. A compact tyrannosaur with a reduced head reads as a generic theropod; keep the head large for the body and it reads as a young T-Rex even at this size.
The other detail worth the time is the eye socket and brow. On a model this size visitors stand close enough to see how the eye sits under the ridge, and a flat, painted-on eye is the first thing that gives a cheap build away.
Six movement groups
Head left and right, neck up and down, jaw open and close with a roar, blinking eyes, tail sweep, forearm scratch. The forearm group is small and gets noticed at close range — it is the detail that separates a model from a character when the visitor is two metres away.
Independent drives with end-of-travel protection. On a compact build the neck travel should be short and the dwell long: the head comes down to visitor level, holds, and goes back up. That single movement does more than any amount of jaw work.
Indoor and courtyard use
At 2.3 m the animal clears a standard retail ceiling with room for a signage band above it, and the footprint fits a courtyard without blocking a fire route. On a raised floor the load needs a spreader plate, which has to be agreed with the building engineer rather than discovered on installation day.
Sound is the other indoor consideration. A roar sized for an outdoor trail is oppressive in a concourse; we set the indoor version quieter with a shorter decay, and can tie the roar to a floor mat so it fires for arriving visitors instead of on a timer.
Where it works
Small parks and farm attractions. A hero animal for a site that can't take a twelve-metre build, with the head at a height that photographs over a crowd.
Indoor exhibitions. Malls, museums, trade shows and hotel lobbies — the size that fits a door and a ceiling.
Photo operations. At three metres the head fills the frame, which is exactly what a paid photo point needs.
Finish and delivery
Welded Q235 steel frame with anti-rust treatment, foam volume, silicone five to seven millimetres, translucent layered colour. Rated −25 °C to 45 °C, 110 V or 220 V configured at build. Ships in sections with base frame, control cabinet, sound system, wiring diagram and calibration sheet.
Freight, duties, certificates and installation are quoted separately and are not part of the product price. At this size the animal often ships alongside other units in one container, which is worth asking about if you're buying more than one product.
Why photo points like this size
A paid photo point has one requirement: the visitor and the animal have to fit in the same frame from a phone at arm's length. A twelve-metre tyrannosaur fails that test — you get a leg. At five metres with the head at 2.3 m, a family standing beside the jaw fills the frame, and the animal still looks like a predator rather than a pet.
The same logic applies to queue design. Five metres needs about three metres of clear space in front of the head for a photo, which fits inside most concourses; the larger builds need a viewing area that most sites don't have.
