Production Process
Sixteen metres is close to the fossil animal at full adult size, and at that length the Spinosaurus stops being an exhibit and becomes the reason people turn off the road. It also stops being a product you can order and starts being a project you plan.

What changes at this size
Three things, and all of them are logistics before they are aesthetics. The base has to be engineered — a sixteen-metre animal with a 5.8 m sail presents a large side area to wind, and the anchor pattern is designed per site rather than shipped as a standard plate. The assembly needs lifting equipment for the body and sail sections. And the freight has to be planned around the longest crate, which decides the vehicle and therefore the access road.
None of that is a reason to choose a smaller animal. It is a reason to start the conversation four months earlier than you would for a five-metre build.
The sail, at 5.8 metres
The sail is the structural centre of this build. The ribs that support it run from the dorsal frame, spaced to resist wind rather than only to hold shape, and the skin over it is the thickest specification we run. Where a smaller Spinosaurus can be built as a body with a fin on top, this one is engineered from the sail downward.
Indoors, that height is usually the blocker: a 5.8 m animal needs an atrium, not a gallery. Outdoors, it needs clearance from lighting columns, signage and overhead cables — check the approach before you fall in love with the position.
Movement set
Mouth opening with a roar, blinking eyes, glowing eyes, head nodding up and down, neck swaying left and right, tail wagging. The glowing eyes are worth having at this scale: at dusk, from a distance, they are what makes the silhouette read as an animal rather than as a statue.
Movement speeds on a sixteen-metre animal are deliberately slow. A sail that whips looks like a flag; a sail that tilts as the neck turns looks like weight. Every parameter is documented at commissioning so it can be tuned on site without a service visit.
Indoor or outdoor
Outdoors — the natural setting. Coastal parks, safari-style attractions and roadside landmarks, where it is visible from a distance and viewed from four to ten metres.
Indoors — possible in a purpose-built hall or atrium with the ceiling height and the floor loading for it. Send the structural engineer's floor rating before we quote; the animal is heavy and the load is concentrated at the feet.
Finish and delivery
Welded steel frame with anti-rust treatment, foam volume, silicone skin, translucent layered colour. Movements, posture, colours and roars are all made to order. Ships in sections with base frame, control cabinet, sound system, wiring diagram and calibration sheet.
Freight, duties, certificates and installation are quoted separately and are not part of the product price. For a build this size we normally quote those alongside the animal rather than after, because the crane and the access plan can affect the schedule more than the model does.
Compared with the eight-metre build
The eight-metre Spinosaurus is a strong trail animal and a good skyline piece. The sixteen-metre build does something different: it is close to the fossil animal's adult length, and at that size the sail becomes architecture — visible from a road, readable at a hundred metres, and impossible to mistake for anything else on the site.
The trade-off is everything downstream of the decision: crane, crate plan, anchor design, schedule. If the site can take it, it will outperform the smaller build as a landmark. If the site is tight, the eight-metre version will look better in the space and cost less to install.
