Production Process
Eight metres is an odd number to sell a Tyrannosaurus on, because the animal everybody pictures is twelve. The honest description of this build is a young adult: an animal that had the proportions of the species but not yet the mass, which is why the head looks large for the body and the legs look long.
SKU YKL-074: eight metres long, 0.9 m across the body, 2.1 m at the hip. The name on the page says large size; the tape measure says otherwise, and it is worth knowing which one you're buying.
Why a smaller adult is often the right buy
A twelve-metre tyrannosaur needs a pad, a crane, a container plan and a viewing distance of eight metres before it looks like anything. At eight metres the same animal fits a forecourt, a hotel lawn, a roadside pull-in or a shopping-centre entrance, and it still reads as a Tyrannosaurus at forty metres.
The freight difference is the part buyers underestimate. Eight metres travels in sections that can be handled without lifting equipment, and the largest crate passes through a standard loading bay. That changes installation from a project into an afternoon.
Where the proportions land
At this size the animal stands lower than visitors expect: 2.1 m at the hip puts the head at roughly 2.4 m in a normal walking pose. That is above adult height but below the treeline — the band that photographs well without needing a crane to install.
Keep the head forward rather than high. A juvenile tyrannosaur built in a tall, upright pose looks like a mascot; the low, forward carriage is what makes it read as a predator.
Six movement groups
Head left and right, neck up and down, jaw open and close with a roar, blinking eyes, tail sweep, forearm scratch. The jaw is the group that carries this animal: on a T-Rex the head is what people came for, and the timing between jaw and sound is what makes it convincing.
Independent drives with end-of-travel protection; loop, sensor or mat triggering; speeds set and documented at commissioning. On a compact build the tail sweep covers less ground, so it can be set freely without reaching a barrier.
One thing for the signage
The page name references a film franchise, and names like that are usually protected. We build the animal; what you call it on tickets, signage and advertising is a decision for you and your legal adviser. Plenty of sites market this shape as a young tyrannosaur or a juvenile T-Rex, and visitors recognise it either way.
Finish and delivery
Welded Q235 steel frame with anti-rust treatment, foam volume, silicone five to seven millimetres, translucent layered colour. Standard finish is an olive-brown body with darker dorsal banding and a pale underside; posture, pattern, colour and sound are made to order.
Rated −25 °C to 45 °C, 110 V or 220 V configured at build. Ships in sections with base frame, control cabinet, sound system, wiring diagram and calibration sheet. Freight, duties, certificates and installation are quoted separately from the product price.
What a younger animal means
A tyrannosaur at eight metres was not a scaled-down adult: it was an animal of a different age class, with longer legs relative to its body, a narrower skull and a build still growing into its mass. That is why the proportions on a good eight-metre model look slightly leggy, and why forcing adult proportions onto this length produces something that reads as wrong without being obviously wrong.
It also gives an exhibit an angle. A young tyrannosaur raises questions a full adult doesn't: what it hunted, how fast it grew, whether it competed with the adults. Those are good panel questions, and they cost nothing to include.
Enquiry
Tell us the viewing distance and whether the animal is the entrance piece or a mid-trail stop. If you need the full twelve-metre animal instead, ask — the difference is in the frame and the freight, not only in the price.
Where to go next
If you are still comparing options, start with the park layout and theming strategies — it lines up the builds by length and reach. Site work is covered in the cost breakdown with the seven price factors, and the spare parts and repair kit list lists the factors that move the price.
For ideas on placing it, see layout strategies for themed trails. The rest of the range is on animatronic dinosaurs, and if this one is the wrong size for the slot, animatronic ankylosaurus for jurassic theme parks is the closest alternative.
