Production Process
Three horns read at a distance before anything else does. That is why this shell is built around the head: two brow horns and a nose horn in cream with gold tips, a spiked frill behind them, and a heavy brow line over two large eyes. The body is a hot pink with a darker mottle through the flanks, so it separates from grey tile and from a crowd.
It sits on the same running gear as the rest of our ride-on range: a 24V chassis, 350W brushless motor on the right rear wheel, two 12V 20Ah batteries in series, 150 kg load rating. Sessions are set from 1 to 99 minutes, and the car starts from a coin acceptor or a remote handset.
What the shell contributes
The frill gives the unit a wide, recognisable outline from the side and from behind, which matters when the car is seen across a plaza rather than head-on.
The horns and frill spikes are moulded with the shell and finished in a separate colour, so they hold their shape when a rider grabs them.
The pink is a deliberate operating choice: it photographs well under mall lighting and it is not a colour children walk past.
Eyes are set under a brow ridge rather than flat on the face, which keeps the expression readable at ten metres and in phone photos.
Steering is a handlebar with grips, running on six sealed bearings.
The chassis under it
A welded steel frame carries the drive and the batteries low, so the unit stays balanced with a rider seated. The 350W brushless motor drives the right rear wheel; the other three are PU idlers, 120mm in diameter and 45mm thick. Load rating is 150 kg, which covers an adult with a child on the same seat.
Coin, remote, or both
Unattended sites run on the coin acceptor: the rider buys a token, drops it in, and the timer runs the session to its end. Staffed sites use the remote, which starts the car on a button press and lets an attendant cut a session short when a queue forms.
Both are fitted to every unit and either one will start it. The default session length and speed limit are set to your site before shipping.
Session, speed, music
Session length is adjustable between 1 and 99 minutes. Speed is adjustable between 1 and 10 km/h, and we normally set 3–5 km/h for polished floors. Music plays from an SD card; the playlist is a folder of files copied in order, so it can carry your own theme music instead of ours.
Charging
The pack is 24V 20Ah, two 12V 20Ah lead-acid batteries in series, charged by the supplied 24V 20Ah high-current charger. A full pack runs the car for 5–6 hours; recharging from empty takes 6–8 hours.
On a long operating day, a second pack is the cheaper answer than a second car: swapping takes minutes, and the unit keeps earning while the flat pack charges.
When something stops working
The controller is integrated and mounted under the belly, monitoring pack voltage and motor faults. In most cases the fault is identified within five minutes. If it is not, the controller is replaced whole: four screws, three harness plugs, shell left in place.
Wear parts are the tyres, the bumper strip and the seat covering. Keeping one spare of each, plus a spare pack, covers almost every interruption on a working day.
Size and handling
The unit is 1.5–1.8m long, 0.55m wide and 1.0–1.5m high, and weighs 45 kg. Two people lift it, and it travels in a van without a ramp.
How it is made
Steel frame welded to the drawing
Motor and drive mounted
Wiring and control layout
Foam built over the frame
Shape carved, horns and frill included
Scale texture ironed in
Silicone skin applied
Colour layers and horn tips finished
Where it earns
Children's playgrounds, theme parks, shopping plazas and small parks, on tile, concrete or rubber track. Grass, slopes and steps are outside what this unit is built for.
The economics, plainly
A five-minute session at 5–15 USD a ride is the common pattern. At 10 USD and thirty rides across a Saturday afternoon, the till takes 300 USD.
Real numbers depend on footfall, position and local pricing. Operators usually add a second car before they lengthen the session, and the second unit is quoted against the first.
Questions we get
How long does it run on one charge?
5–6 hours continuously. Recharging from empty takes 6–8 hours, so a spare pack is worth having if the day is long.
Will it take an adult?
The rating is 150 kg, so an adult with a child is within it. Riding rules are set by the site and by local regulation.
Do the horns break?
They are moulded with the shell and finished separately, not glued on. Replacements are supplied as shell parts if one is damaged.
Can the music be our own?
Yes. The playlist is read from an SD card in file order, so any audio you have rights to can be used.
What if it stops mid-session?
The controller reports voltage and motor faults and is usually diagnosed in five minutes. If not, it swaps out with four screws and three plugs.
Not sure it fits your site?
Send a photo or a short clip of the floor and the run you have available. We will tell you what would need to change, and what the unit would be set to for that site.
It belongs to the dinosaur electric car range, next to the larger ride-on dinosaurs used in parks. Venue type and surface go in the quotation form, and the unit is configured to match.
