Production Process
This one is not a dinosaur and does not pretend to be. It reads as a character: a rounded snout, a wide friendly mouth, green frills running from the brow down the neck, and a crest across the head. The body is orange-yellow over a cream chest and belly, with a blue-green saddle pad and the LED accent lights visible on the flanks.
Underneath it runs the same 24V platform as the rest of this range: 350W brushless motor on the right rear wheel, two 12V 20Ah batteries in series, 150 kg load rating, 5–6 hours per charge. Sessions are set from 1 to 99 minutes; the car starts from a coin acceptor or a remote handset.
Why it works where dinosaurs do not
A dinosaur ride sells on recognition; a dragon sells on character. That difference matters on a site where the audience is not dinosaur-literate — a shopping plaza, a family entertainment centre, a seasonal event. Children respond to the face and the frills without needing to know what species it is.
The frills are moulded into the shell and finished in a separate green, so they keep their edge instead of softening with handling.
The mouth is fixed slightly open with a rounded lip, which reads as friendly rather than as a predator.
The crest sits above the eyeline, so it stays out of the rider's view and out of arm's reach.
The tail is short and turns down, which keeps the unit compact in a narrow aisle between shop units.
Riding position
The rider sits in a shallow saddle with both feet on moulded rests and hands on the bar at chest height. The blue-green pad is a replaceable part rather than a painted area, so wear shows up as a pad swap instead of a shell repair.
Coin or remote
Coin mode covers an unattended site: token in, timer starts, the car stops itself at the end of the session. Remote mode covers a staffed site, where an attendant starts each ride and can shorten it when a queue builds.
Both are fitted and either one will start the unit. Session length and speed limit are set to your site before shipping.
Sessions, speed, music
Session length adjusts from 1 to 99 minutes, speed from 1 to 10 km/h; 3–5 km/h is the setting we use for indoor floors. Music plays from an SD card read in file order, so a themed soundtrack for the site is a copy-and-paste job.
Battery and charging
The pack is 24V 20Ah — two 12V 20Ah lead-acid batteries in series — with a 24V 20Ah high-current charger supplied. Full to empty is 5–6 hours of running; empty to full is 6–8 hours.
For sites open longer than that, a second pack is the practical spend: a swap takes minutes, and the car keeps earning while the flat pack charges.
Service
The integrated controller sits under the belly and monitors pack voltage and motor faults. Most faults are identified within five minutes; if the controller is at fault it is replaced whole with four screws and three harness plugs, shell left in place.
Drive is the right rear wheel; the other three are PU idlers, 120mm in diameter and 45mm thick. Steering runs on six sealed dust-proof bearings.
Size and handling
1.5–1.8m long, 0.55m wide, 1.0–1.5m high, 45 kg. Two people lift it and it fits in a van.
Build sequence
Steel frame welded to drawing
Motor and drive mounted
Wiring and controller layout
Foam built up over the frame
Head, frills and crest carved
Scale texture ironed in
Silicone skin applied
Colour layers, frills and pad finished
Where it fits
Playgrounds, theme parks, shopping plazas and small parks, on tile, concrete or rubber track. It also suits fantasy or seasonal themes where a dinosaur would look out of place.
What a session earns
Five minutes at 5–15 USD is the usual price point. At 10 USD and thirty rides across a Saturday afternoon, that is 300 USD through the till.
Real numbers follow footfall, position and local pricing; operators tend to add a second unit rather than lengthen the ride.
Questions
Is it a dinosaur or a dragon?
A dragon, built on the same chassis as our dinosaur rides. The shell is a separate mould, the running gear is shared.
How long on one charge?
5–6 hours of running, 6–8 hours to recharge from empty. A spare pack covers a longer day.
Will it take an adult?
150 kg rating. An adult with a child fits within it; riding rules are set by the site.
Can the music be ours?
Yes — the SD card reads files in order, so any audio you hold rights to works.
What if it stops mid-session?
The controller reports voltage and motor faults, usually diagnosed in five minutes; otherwise it swaps out with four screws and three plugs.
Checking it against your site
Send a photo of the floor and the length of run you have. We will say what would need to change, and how the unit would be set before it ships.
It sits alongside the dinosaur electric car range and the larger ride-on dinosaurs used in parks. Venue type and surface go into the quotation form.
