Production Process
Pachycephalosaurus is the one with a helmet for a head. The dome is the largest single form on this unit: smooth, finished in a pale bone colour, ringed with short spikes. In a photograph it is what people recognise before they read anything else. The body runs orange-red with a darker mottle down the spine, cream under the jaw and on the toes, and a red-gripped handlebar at the shoulder.
It sits on the standard 24V chassis used across this range: 350W brushless motor on the right rear wheel, two 12V 20Ah batteries in series, 150 kg load rating, 5–6 hours of running per charge. Sessions run 1–99 minutes, started by coin or by remote.
About the dome
It is moulded as part of the shell, not fixed on afterwards, so the silhouette stays correct from every angle.
The surface is deliberately smooth: children cannot get a grip on it, which keeps hands on the handlebar where they belong.
The ring of spikes around it is short and rounded, moulded into the shell and finished in the same bone colour.
The eyes sit under the dome rather than on the sides, so the face reads straight ahead — useful when the car is photographed from the front at a mall entrance.
Riding position
The rider sits inside the shell with the feet on moulded rests and both hands on the bar. The seat area is finished in the body colour rather than a separate pad, which is one less part to replace. The body narrows at the waist so a smaller child can still reach the grips.
Coin or remote
Coin mode is for sites without staff on the ride: token in, timer starts, the car stops itself at the end of the session. Remote mode is for staffed sites, where an attendant starts each run and can cut it short when a queue builds.
Both are fitted and either will start the unit. Session length and speed limit are set to your site before shipping.
Sessions, speed, music
Session length adjusts from 1 to 99 minutes. Speed adjusts from 1 to 10 km/h; 3–5 km/h is where we set units running indoors. Music comes from an SD card, read in file order, so a project-specific soundtrack is a matter of copying files.
Battery and charging
The pack is 24V 20Ah — two 12V 20Ah lead-acid batteries in series — charged by the supplied 24V 20Ah high-current charger. Expect 5–6 hours of running from full and 6–8 hours to recharge from empty.
If your day runs longer than the pack, a second battery is cheaper than a second car: swap in minutes, charge the flat one out of the way.
Service
The integrated controller sits under the belly and reports pack voltage and motor faults. Most faults are identified within five minutes. When the controller itself is the problem it is replaced as a unit — four screws, three plugs, shell left on.
The drive wheel is the right rear; the other three are PU idlers, 120mm across and 45mm thick. Steering runs on six sealed dust-proof bearings, and that is what keeps the bars light over a season.
Size and lifting
1.5–1.8m long, 0.55m wide, 1.0–1.5m high, 45 kg. Two people lift it, and it goes into a van without a ramp.

Where it works
Playgrounds, theme parks, shopping plazas and small parks — on tile, concrete or rubber track. Grass, slopes and steps are not what it is built for.
What a ride earns
The pattern is a five-minute session at 5–15 USD. At 10 USD and thirty rides over a Saturday afternoon, the till takes 300 USD.
Actual returns follow footfall, position and local pricing. Most operators add a second unit before stretching the session; the second is quoted against the first.
Questions
How long on one charge?
5–6 hours of running, 6–8 hours to recharge. A spare pack covers a longer day.
Will it carry an adult?
150 kg rating, and the batteries sit low. An adult with a child fits; riding rules are set by the site.
Is the dome hollow?
It is a moulded shell over the frame, finished as one piece. If it is damaged, the shell section is replaced rather than patched.
Can the music be ours?
Yes — the SD card reads files in order, so any audio you hold rights to works.
What if it stops mid-session?
The controller reports voltage and motor faults, usually diagnosed in five minutes; otherwise the controller is swapped in minutes.
Checking it against your site
Send a photo of the floor and the length of run you have. We will say what would need to change and what the unit would be set to before it ships.
It belongs to the dinosaur electric car range, alongside the larger ride-on dinosaurs built for parks. Venue type and surface go into the quotation form.
