A five-metre Carnotaurus is a compromise, and a useful one: the horns and the deep skull still read, the animal fits a path junction, and it costs a fraction of the eight-metre build that needs a crane to install.

Keeping the head honest
The whole identity of this animal is in the skull: short, deep, blunt at the snout, with two horns projecting outward above the eyes. Compress the body and the head must not follow proportionally — a five-metre build with a scaled head loses the species.
We hold the head size and shorten the body instead, which is why this animal looks heavy in front and light behind. That is also close to how the real animal looked.
The front paw wave
This build carries a front paw wave rather than a forearm scratch — a smaller movement, and arguably the more honest one for an abelisaur, whose arms barely functioned. It gives the animal a gesture without implying a reach it never had.
Combined with head turn, neck, jaw, blinking eyes and tail sway, the set is enough to make a compact animal feel alive at close range.
Built on a flexible frame
The core structure is a steel frame with flex joints, carrying a durable foam and silicone skin over industrial actuators. Flex joints matter on a compact predator: the body has to shift slightly as the animal turns, and a rigid frame makes that movement look mechanical.
Skin is silicone over carved foam, coloured in translucent layers so the tone sits in the surface rather than on it. On a park animal that gets rained on and touched, that is the finish that survives; local damage is patched with matching pigment instead of a panel repaint.
Where it fits
Path junctions. Five metres turns inside a corner, which is the practical reason parks buy this size.
Small and mid-size dinosaur parks. A predator with presence, at a price that leaves budget for a second animal.
Shopping malls and resorts. At 2.2 m it clears a ceiling and fits a concourse; the spec sheet lists mall and resort use for a reason.
Finish and delivery
Steel frame with flex joints, durable foam and silicone skin, industrial actuators. Posture, skin texture, colour, motion programming and sound are all made to order. Rated for outdoor use with 110 V or 220 V configured at build; the control cabinet is accessible through a service panel.
Ships in sections with base frame, control cabinet, sound system, wiring diagram and calibration sheet. Freight, duties, certificates and installation are quoted separately from the product price.
Frame, joints and service access
A compact predator gets serviced more often than a large one, because it is usually in a high-traffic position: a path junction, a mall floor, a resort walkway. That makes access a design requirement rather than an afterthought.
The frame runs flex joints at the body sections, the actuators are reached through panels on the flanks, and the control cabinet sits inside the body behind a lockable cover. Every joint can be moved by hand for inspection, and the programme can be paused without leaving the animal mid-motion. On a site where the animal is running eight hours a day, those two details are what keep it running.
What to check on delivery
Unpack the sections before signing anything, and check three things in order. The skin at the head and the horns, because that is the part that ships most exposed. The joint travel on the neck and tail, by hand, before power is applied. And the cabinet wiring against the diagram, which takes two minutes and catches the one fault that shipping causes most often.
Then run the programme for a full cycle with the barrier still up. An animal that behaves correctly in an empty park and badly in front of visitors is usually a trigger placed badly rather than a mechanical fault.
