Production Process
A ride is judged differently from an exhibit. Nobody asks how realistic the skin is; they ask how many people got on it in an hour and whether anyone queued twice. At five metres long with a 1.5 m saddle height, this animal is sized so that loading is quick and supervision is possible from standing height.

The saddle height sets everything else
A 1.5 m saddle is child-height for a standing adult helper: you can lift a child on and steady them without a platform. That single number decides the loading method, the staff position and the ride duration. Raise the saddle and you need steps, which slows loading and adds a fall hazard; lower it and adults stop being able to ride with a child.
The wings sit either side of the saddle, which is the safe arrangement — they form a natural barrier without a separate rail. Check the wing sweep against your queue line before the first day, because a flapping wing at head height is the one thing visitors will walk into.
Throughput is a loading question
Ride time is usually the shorter part of a cycle. Loading, buckling, checking and unloading take longer than the movement itself, so the hourly figure comes from how many times you can repeat that sequence, not from how long the animal performs.
The practical fix is a two-position operation: one animal loading while another runs, with a single attendant between them. It roughly doubles throughput for the same number of staff and the same footprint, and it gives the second animal a rest cycle. If you are buying one unit, plan the second one into the layout now rather than rebuilding later.
What moves, and what should not
Wing flap, head turn, tail swing and the jaw with a roar. The body does not travel — this is a stationary ride, not a track ride, and that is deliberate: a moving ride needs a different frame, a different safety case and a different insurance conversation.
Movement while loaded is limited to the wings and head. Anything that shifts the saddle under a rider is excluded at design stage, which is why the animation looks calmer than a trail animal of the same size.
Naming and signage
If the design follows a film character, the animal and the name are two separate decisions. We build the shape you specify; using a character name, logo or still in advertising is your call and worth checking with your own adviser before print. Many parks run the same animal under a generic name and lose nothing at the gate.
Signage should carry weight limits, age guidance and the supervision rule. Put them at the loading point rather than at the entrance, so the attendant can point at them.
Frame, skin and wear
Q235 steel frame, carved foam, silicone shell, UV-stable top coat. On a ride the wear points are different from an exhibit: the saddle edges, the wing roots and the step area. Those get reinforced at build, and the skin in those places is thicker.
Ask for a touch-up kit in the base colour. A ride gets scuffed daily, and a ten-minute touch-up at closing is cheaper than a repaint at the end of the season.
Power, siting and weather
110 V or 220 V to destination standard, −25 °C to 45 °C. Indoors it needs a level floor and about a metre of clearance on the wing side; outdoors it needs a pad and a wind plan, because a two-metre animal with wings acts as a sail even when it is not flapping.
If the ride operates in a mall, check the floor loading with the building manager and use a spreader plate. The animal is not heavy for its size, but it is a point load in four places, which is a different question from a crowd standing on the same tiles.
